With a wide range of valve materials available, the plastic air actuated butterfly valve range cover a huge range of applications in most industries, although the most common application is with many types of water from swimming pools, through water treatment, to drinking water.
For water applications the PVC air actuated butterfly valve fitted with the AVP pneumatic actuator offers a commercially competitive solution with sizes from 2" to 12". Generally PVC pneumatic butterfly valves are wafer pattern although lugged and tapped versions can be supplied on request. These use a threaded insert that is moulded into the plastic butterfly valve lugs.
Whilst the most common plastic butterfly valve construction uses a PVC body and disc, several alternative disc materials can be offered including ABS and PP-H, although these are typically fitted within a PP-H or GRPP body.
