For water applications a PVC air actuated butterfly valve fitted with the AVP pneumatic actuator offers a commercially competitive solution with sizes from 2" to 12". Generally PVC pneumatic butterfly valves are wafer pattern although lugged and tapped versions can be supplied on request.
EU manufacturer Hidroten specialise in the manufacture of PVC valves, and the most popular Hidroten butterfly valve has a PVC body and disc. The main seal is a 'O' ring installed in the outer edge of the disc, as opposed to a full liner found with most other manufacturers' butterfly valve designs.
