Ductile iron knife gate valves provide the most cost effective solution for handling viscous media at low pressures and temperatures, typically in waste-water, pulp & paper, biomass, mining, some chemical and many other applications.
A knife gate valve has a narrow blade that cuts through the media allowing it to be used where any other type of valve, such as a conventional gate valve, butterfly or ball valve would quickly become clogged and the valve would leak.
The linear action of the knife gate valve lends itself to being operated by a pneumatic cylinder, so air actuated knife gates are uncomplicated, easy to accomplish and provide a relatively low cost for automating these valves.
